0129: We provided design services for the interior finishes for
this Radiology suite at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. The
architects for this project were BBLM Architects. Within the palette of
materials demanded by this kind of use we sought to avoid the stereotype
of institutional and hospital spaces. This suite has no windows or natural
light, so to counter that we wanted the space to be warm and the colors
to evoke natural materials, wood, earth, etc. The floor pattern includes
clues for patient way-finding by identifying starting points and destinations
with color while carrying through the overall pattern.
