9865: This small residential addition gave us the opportunity to demonstrate how the thoughtful manipulation of space can influence your experience of an environment. Upon entering the home and turning toward the living space you are confronted by what appears to be a vast, bright space lying beyond the end of the room. The interesting geometry of the plan is more purposeful than decorative. The bounds of the room, the corners, the ceiling, are deliberately placed beyond your field of vision, emphasized by a contrast in light. The result is a lasting impression of spaciousness and lightness.
