| 9972: This residential renovation and addition was a unique opportunity to return a unique house to its original spirit. Built in the late 1940's as a demonstration house for plywood products this 1 story modern house was inspired by the Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian model, as well as the modern post-war styles coming from Europe. Over the years much of the original character had been lost, the open carport filled in, the angular main roof turned into a shallow peak. We were able to revive the modern spirit of the house by respecting the original lines with the additions and accentuating the unique geometry of the roof. Inside the open plan living area was enlarged, and the kitchen renovated. | |
